Shillong, June 30 -- A viral video by a journalist-vlogger claims an ethanol factory is polluting Byrnihat, an industrial town on the Assam-Meghalaya border, which is already grappling with severe industrial emissions.
Sarthak Goswami, the independent journalist-vlogger, shared alarming visuals of thick smoke billowing from a grain-based ethanol factory's chimneys and black soot coating the surrounding vegetation.
In the video, residents of the surrounding area voiced deep frustration to authorities, stating that air quality has deteriorated since the influx of industries, leading to a rise in respiratory ailments and other health issues.
