Bengaluru, Aug. 18 -- Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda has been given the additional charge of the Parliamentary Affairs Department, with Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot formally approving the allocation on Tuesday.

The decision was taken by Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who has entrusted the important portfolio to Byre Gowda, who already handles the Revenue Department and Bengaluru Urban Development.

The allocation comes amid the recent exercise to redistribute additional responsibilities among ministers. Byre Gowda had sought an additional portfolio, and the Chief Minister has now assigned him Parliamentary Affairs.

The Governor has issued the formal order, making the allocation effective.
