Balasore, June 25 -- Tension gripped Balasore town in Odisha on Thursday after a businessman was shot dead in broad daylight by unidentified armed assailants at Arad Bazar under Sahadevkhunta police station limits.
The deceased, identified as Sheikh Hamid, was in his mid-forties and owned several business establishments in the town, including a car accessories showroom and a beauty parlour.
According to reports, Hamid was walking through the Arad Bazar area in the afternoon when two armed miscreants allegedly approached and opened fire at him. The attackers reportedly fired multiple rounds before fleeing the spot.
