Nalgonda, June 30 -- Two drivers were seriously injured when a private bus travelling from Vijayawada to Hyderabad collided with an oncoming cement tanker near Muthyalamma Gudem in Kattangur mandal of Nalgonda district on Tuesday.
Police said the accident occurred after the bus suffered a tyre burst, causing the driver to lose control. The bus crossed the divider and rammed into the tanker, severely damaging its front portion.
Both the bus and lorry drivers, who were trapped in their cabins, were rescued by police and locals and shifted to a nearby hospital. Around 40 passengers on the bus escaped with minor injuries. The mishap briefly disrupted traffic on the national highway.
