Nurpur, May 3 -- A major road accident was narrowly averted in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday when a private bus travelling from Chamba to Una overturned near Nurpur, leaving around 40 passengers injured, some of them seriously.
According to initial reports, the driver lost control og the bus HP 72 D 3791 and the vehicle overturned on the road as it approached Nurpur.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by the police. It is suspected that the driver may have suffered a heart attack, which caused the mishap.
All injured passengers were immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital in Nurpur, where doctors administered first aid to them immediately.
