Hyderabad, Sept. 9 -- An alleged act of "purification" of a road used by Dalit Congress workers has triggered a political row in Telangana, with Government Whip and MLC Dr Balmoor Venkat accusing the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of continuing to follow an "anti-Dalit mindset" and warned that the party would face the people's wrath if it failed to change its approach.

Addressing the media at Media Point in the Telangana Assembly, Venkat condemned the alleged 'purification' of an area near BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao's farmhouse following a protest by Dalits. He questioned whether a place becomes "polluted" merely because members of the Dalit community gathered there.
