Bengaluru, July 20 -- In a sensational incident that has stunned Karnataka, two brothers allegedly exhumed their mother's body 79 days after her burial and attempted to transport it on a motorcycle to a government hospital for a second post-mortem, claiming she was murdered and that her death had been wrongly declared a suicide.

The incident occurred in Adapur village of Harihar taluk in Davanagere district, where 58-year-old Iramma was found hanging in her house on April 29. A post-mortem conducted at Malebennur Hospital had concluded that she committed suicide, following which the family buried the body.
