Mumbai, June 3 -- Light to moderate pre-monsoon showers across several parts of Mumbai on Wednesday led to severe traffic congestion on major arterial roads, causing inconvenience to thousands of commuters during the morning rush hours.

Motorists reported long traffic queues on the Western Express Highway (WEH), Eastern Express Highway (EEH), Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) and stretches in Powai as rainfall affected traffic movement across the city. Moderate to heavy showers were recorded in Mahalaxmi, Marine Drive, Bandra, Andheri, Vile Parle, Kandivali, Mira Road, Virar, Ghatkopar, Mulund and parts of Kurla.
