Bhubaneswar, June 6 -- Odisha's successful hosting of the BRICS Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience (DRR) Working Group meeting in Puri has further strengthened the state's international reputation as a leader in disaster preparedness and resilience, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari said on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference here, Pujari said the meeting was in line with the vision of Viksit Odisha 2036, which aims to achieve zero-casualty outcomes during disasters, build resilient infrastructure, modernise the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF), and minimise the impact of disasters on livelihoods.
