Rio De Janeiro, May 15 -- Carlo Ancelotti has extended his contract as manager of Brazil's national team for another four years, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) said.

The 66-year-old Italian joined Brazil last May on a deal running until this year's World Cup, which begins next month in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

"For the past year, we have been working to take the Brazil national team back to the top of world football," Ancelotti said in a statement on the CBF's official website on Thursday.
