Mumbai, March 20 -- An eight-year-old boy died after falling into a water-filled construction pit allegedly dug by a builder at Malad East in Mumbai. The incident occurred in the Kurar village area in Chagan Patel Chawl, raising serious concerns over safety at construction sites.
Sources said the incident took place on Thursday around 8 pm. The deceased has been identified as Divyansh Rajesh Maurya. He had reportedly gone to retrieve his ball while playing near the site where the pit had been dug by Mauli Construction.
Divyansh accidentally slipped and fell into the deep pit filled with water, police sources added.
