Rio De Janeiro, April 4 -- Botafogo has signed Franclim Carvalho as head coach on a contract running until December 2027, the Brazilian club said.
The 39-year-old replaces Argentine Martin Anselmi, who was sacked in March after a poor run of results.
Carvalho is well known to Botafogo, having worked as an assistant coach to Artur Jorge in 2024 when the Rio de Janeiro club won both the Copa Libertadores and Brazilian Serie A titles.
"The Portuguese coach returns to Botafogo to write a new chapter in the team's history and in his career," read a statement on the club's official website.
