Chandigarh, April 10 -- Confusion and resentment prevailed at the Attari-Wagha international border on Friday as a group of Sikh pilgrims, who intended to travel to Pakistan for Khalsa Sajna Diwas, was prevented from crossing by security blockades.

While a large contingent of devotees successfully crossed the border to visit historic gurdwaras, approximately 27 pilgrims were halted by Border Security Force (BSF) officials.

The primary cause cited for this intervention was the absence of their names from the official approval list required for international transit.
