Lucknow, April 1 -- A bomb threat sent via email to the District Magistrate's office in Lucknow caused panic and heightened security at the Collectorate premises on Wednesday.

Following the alert, police officials, including the ACP (West) and the Inspector of Wazirganj, rushed to the spot and initiated a thorough search operation.

Authorities temporarily restricted entry and exit within the premises to ensure safety.

The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), along with a dog squad, conducted an extensive search across the area. However, no suspicious object was found during the inspection.

Police have now launched an investigation to trace the source of the threatening email.
