Varanasi, Aug. 1 -- The Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) has set a new record by producing 65 electric locomotives in July 2026, the highest-ever monthly locomotive production in its history.
This is the highest number of locomotives produced by BLW in a single month in any financial year.
Under this historic achievement, BLW manufactured 44 WAG-9HC freight electric locomotives, 13 WAP-7 passenger electric locomotives and eight Amrit Bharat electric locomotives for Indian Railways. The milestone reflects BLW's strong production capabilities, advanced technology and the dedicated work culture of its employees.
