Chandigarh, May 21 -- A powerful blast triggered a major fire at a multi-storey house in Amritsar's Angarh area on Thursday afternoon, leaving two women severely injured and causing extensive damage to the building, police said.
According to officials, the explosion occurred inside the house under the jurisdiction of Gate Hakiman police station, creating panic in the locality. The impact of the blast was so intense that cracks reportedly appeared in the roof of the building, while window panes of nearby portions were shattered.
