Agartala, Sept. 13 -- In the lead-up to the Village Committee elections under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC), the ruling BJP has secured approximately two per cent of the total 4,597 seats, while its ally, the Tipra Motha Party (TMP), has won around 34 per cent of the seats unopposed.
The Tripura State Election Commission (TSEC) said that the TMP won 1,557 seats, or 33.87 per cent, uncontested in elections for 587 Village Committees under the ADC. The BJP secured 82 seats, or 1.76 per cent, unopposed after the deadline for withdrawal of nomination papers ended.
