Bagalkot, March 24 -- BJP state president Vijayendra Yediyurappa expressed strong confidence that the party is set to secure victory in the April 9 Bagalkot and Davangere assembly by-elections, citing the current political atmosphere and public dissatisfaction with the Congress government in Karnataka.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, Vijayendra criticised the ruling party, alleging that its cabinet members, including the Chief Minister, are engaging in anti-poor, anti-Dalit, and anti-youth practices, carrying flags and bringing money in sacks rather than suitcases. "No matter how hard the ruling party tries, it cannot stop our victory. Our workers must work carefully until the last day of voting," he said.
