Hyderabad, Sept. 12 -- BJP Telangana president N Ramchander Rao on Saturday said the party would continue its struggle until the State government officially observes Telangana Liberation Day on September 17.
Addressing a commemorative conference titled "Telangana Liberation - The Role of Nationalists" organised by the BJP's Telangana Liberation Committee at Methodist Engineering College in Abids, he said September 17 symbolised the self-respect of the people of Telangana and commemorated the sacrifices of those who fought against the Nizam's rule.
Recalling Operation Polo led by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Ramchander Rao said the Nizam's autocratic rule was forced to surrender before the strength of the Indian Army.
