Hyderabad, Sept. 24 -- BJP Telangana president N Ramchander Rao on Thursday welcomed the Supreme Court's decision dismissing former Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender's plea against his disqualification, terming it a victory for constitutional principles and democracy.
The Supreme Court upheld the Telangana High Court verdict disqualifying Nagender under the anti-defection law after he contested the 2024 Lok Sabha election from Secunderabad on a Congress ticket while continuing as a BRS MLA. The apex court found no grounds to interfere with the High Court order.
