Ranchi, June 23 -- Jharkhand BJP president Aditya Sahu on Tuesday welcomed the posthumous conferment of the Padma Bhushan on former Chief Minister and JMM founder Shibu Soren, describing it as a matter of pride for the people of the state.
Sahu thanked the Narendra Modi-led government for honouring Soren and said the award recognised his lifelong contribution to public service, tribal rights and social justice.
He said the honour conferred by President Droupadi Murmu was a national recognition of Soren's struggle and commitment towards the welfare of tribal communities and the upliftment of society.
