Shillong, March 13 -- A delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday urged Meghalaya Governor C.H.Vijayashankar to convene a special session of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) to discuss on the amendment of the Assam and Meghalaya Autonomous District (Constitution of District Council) Rules to bar non-tribals from taking part in elections to the tribal council.

State BJP chief spokesperson Mariahom Kharkrang said that a resolution be passed to bar non-tribals from contesting or participating in GHADC elections.
