Nagpur, June 18 -- Maharashtra Congress on Thursday accused the BJP of undermining democratic institutions and subverting the people's mandate following the defection of six MPs from the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) faction.
Talking to UNI on Thursday, Maharashtra Congress president Harshwardhan Sapkal alleged that the rebellion was not only a betrayal of Shiv Sena (UBT) but also of the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance under whose banner the MPs were elected in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
He claimed that elected representatives were being lured with power and money, which amounted to disrespecting the mandate of voters.
