Hyderabad, May 22 -- Telangana BJP Legislature Party leader Yeleti Maheshwar Reddy on Friday alleged that farmers across Telangana are facing severe hardship due to the State government's failure to ensure smooth procurement of paddy, maize and sorghum crops.
Addressing a media conference at the Bharatiya Janata Party Telangana state office in Nampally, he claimed that procurement centres were suffering from shortages of trucks and gunny bags, forcing farmers to wait for days to sell their produce. He also alleged that middlemen and millers were exploiting farmers and accused the government of deducting four kilograms per bag during procurement.
