Shimla, July 26 -- Himachal Pradesh BJP president Rajeev Bindal on Saturday announced that the party would launch a phased statewide agitation from August against the Congress government, alleging anti-people policies, unfulfilled election promises and corruption.
Addressing reporters after a special meeting of the party at the BJP state headquarters, Deep Kamal, Bindal said the agitation would commence at the mandal level and would subsequently be expanded to Assembly constituencies, district headquarters and the state level.
He alleged that the Congress government, led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, had failed to honour the promises made before the Assembly elections, leaving the people of the state feeling betrayed.
