Ballari, July 16 -- Karnataka BJP president Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Thursday announced that the party would intensify its statewide agitation against the Congress government over the proposed Greater Bengaluru Integrated Township (GBIT) project at Bidadi and other farmers' issues, alleging that the Siddaramaiah government was pursuing "anti-farmer" policies.
Addressing reporters here, Vijayendra alleged that the government was attempting to acquire fertile agricultural land for the Bidadi township project despite strong opposition from farmers. He said the BJP would continue its agitation until the government withdrew the project and protected the interests of the farming community.
