Mumbai, June 19 -- : BJP Maharashtra chief spokesperson Navnath Ban launched a sharp attack on Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, saying that instead of speaking about the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on Shiv Sena's foundation day, Raut should explain the legacy of Aurangzeb, which Ban alleged the UBT faction is ideologically following.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP state office on Friday, Ban said that Shivaji Maharaj symbolized self-respect and Hindutva, while the UBT faction had aligned itself with forces that glorify Aurangzeb and oppose the ideals upheld by the Maratha king. He further claimed that leaders associated with Congress have no moral right to invoke Shivaji Maharaj's name.
