Kolkata, March 13 -- On the eve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kolkata, the West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday launched a sharp attack on the Trinamool Congress-led state government over the alleged suicides of potato farmers in the state.

Addressing a Press conference at the BJP's state headquarters here, West Bengal BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Samik Bhattacharya raised several issues concerning the condition of farmers and the prevailing political situation in West Bengal.
