Nagpur, June 15 -- : BJP corporators from Nagpur have left for Mumbai following a call from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis ahead of the Legislative Council elections, amid efforts by the ruling Mahayuti alliance to prevent any possible cross-voting despite having adequate numerical strength.

According to party leaders, Fadnavis has invited BJP corporators from Nagpur for a "dinner pe charcha" in Mumbai as part of preparations for the June 18 Legislative Council polling.

Though Mahayuti is believed to have sufficient numbers and nearly six of its candidates have already been elected unopposed, the alliance is taking precautionary measures to ensure smooth victory for its remaining candidates and avoid any last-minute politica...
