Kolkata, April 6 -- Alleging interference in his election campaign in the high-profile Bhabanipur Assembly constituency, BJP candidate Suvendu Adhikari has written to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing the state police of acting as a "surveillance arm" of the ruling Trinamul Congress.
In his complaint, Adhikari claimed that while conducting door-to-door campaigning in Bhabanipur, he has been consistently followed by plainclothes police personnel. According to him, these officers are not only shadowing his movements but are also identifying and noting details of voters who interact with him.
