Mumbai, Aug. 5 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Maharashtra chief spokesperson Navnath Ban on Wednesday criticised Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut for defending remarks made against Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, accusing him of endorsing "childish criticism" and displaying double standards.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP's state headquarters, Ban said Raut should have expressed regret over what he described as the insult of a woman instead of supporting the Congress' remarks. He alleged that Raut and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray had consistently indulged in "hypocrisy and politics of double standards" in Maharashtra.
