Shimla, June 25 -- BJP MLA Sudhir Sharma on Thursday questioned the Himachal Pradesh government's decision to grant a service extension to former Chief Secretary (CS) Prabodh Saxena alleging that official records themselves indicated that the officer's integrity could not be certified due to pending corruption-related proceedings.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Sharma cited a communication issued by the Department of Personnel, Government of Himachal Pradesh, dated October 17, 2025, which, he claimed, recorded that the Government of India had sanctioned prosecution against the retired officer under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and Section 197 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
