Santosh's call to prepare for contests on all 117 Punjab Assembly seats has unsettled the Shiromani Akali Dal, with grassroots feedback within the BJP largely favouring an independent fight in the 2027 elections rather than a revival of the party's alliance with the Akalis.
Santosh is on a two-day organisational visit to Punjab to assess the BJP's strength and interact directly with workers and local leaders. At meetings held during his visit, most participants reportedly backed the idea of the BJP expanding its own organisation and preparing to contest independently.
