BJP names Smriti Irani as Haryana in-charge, retains Satish Poonia for Punjab in organisational reshuffle

Neeraj BaliChandigarh, Sept. 23 -- India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday appointed former union minister Smriti Irani as its in-charge for Haryana while retaining Satish Poonia as the party's organisational in-charge for Punjab, as part of a nationwide reshuffle of responsibilities ahead of a string of state elections.

Irani replaces Poonia in Haryana and will be assisted by Lok Sabha member Bhola Singh as co-in-charge, according to the list issued by the BJP's central office.

Irani has also been given charge of Chhattisgarh, where Siddharth Shambhu will serve as co-in-charge.
