Kolkata, March 19 -- The BJP on Thursday announced its second list of 112 candidates, including one party-backed independent, while effecting a minor change in its first list, for the upcoming two-phase West Bengal Assembly state elections.

With this, the BJP has declared candidates for 256 out of the total 294 seats.

The party had earlier released its first list for 144 seats. In a key change, the BJP replaced its candidate for Bishnupur, fielding Viswajit Khan in place of Agnishwar Naskar. The party also announced that it would back an independent Biswajit Mahato in Purulia district's Joypur.

Among the prominent names in the second list, actor-turned-politician Hiran Chatterjee has been fielded from Shyampur in Howrah. In Sonarpur Sout...
