Mumbai, June 23 -- The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly today witnessed a heated exchange as senior BJP MLA and former minister Sudhir Mungantiwar expressed strong indignation over the administrative failure to forward a proposal to the union government for conferring the 'Bharat Ratna' on Swatantrya Veer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.
Upset over the delay in implementing an official assurance given in the House on March 5, 2026, Mungantiwar moved a breach of privilege motion, alleging gross negligence by the bureaucracy.
