Mumbai, Aug. 11 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Shweta Mahale has urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to rename Buldhana district as 'Rajmata Jijau Nagar' in honour of Rajmata Jijabai, mother of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, Mahale sought the renaming of the district, pointing out that Rajmata Jijabai was born at Sindkhed Raja in Buldhana district. She said naming the district after Jijabai would be a fitting tribute to her contribution to the establishment of Hindavi Swarajya.
