Lucknow, Feb. 25 -- In a major political surprise, BJP leader and UP minister Dinesh Pratap Singh has expressed strong displeasure over the Income Tax Department's raid at the residence of Rasra BSP MLA Umashankar Singh in Ballia district, as it came from a ruling party minister against the central agency and that too in an action targeted an opposition party leader.
In a post on X on Wednesday, Singh said that Umashankar Singh, who represents Rasra in Ballia, is his son's father-in-law, as his daughter is married into the MLA's family. He stated that officials from the Income Tax Department conducted a raid at the MLA's residence despite his critical health condition.
