Kolkata, Oct. 1 -- union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and West Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya on Thursday launched a sharp attack on former chief minister Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress (TMC), saying the party has met the same fate as the Congress and Left after losing power.
Shekhawat said the TMC had no ideological basis and alleged that it had merely survived by remaining in power.
"The future that Congress and Left parties faced across the country after losing power is exactly the same future that TMC is facing in West Bengal after parting ways with power," he said.
