Bengaluru, June 19 -- : The Karnataka BJP has constituted a three-member fact-finding committee to investigate alleged cross-voting by BJP and JD(S) legislators during the Karnataka Legislative Council elections, amid concerns that the development caused a setback to the BJP-JD(S) alliance and helped the Congress secure additional votes.

According to party sources, the BJP central leadership has taken a serious view of the cross-voting reported during Thursday's Legislative Council polls and has sought a detailed report from the state unit. The issue has reportedly triggered concern within the alliance after Congress candidates are said to have received 11 additional votes beyond the party's expected strength.
