Bengaluru, March 9 -- The opposition in Karnataka intensified its attack on the state government's 2026-27 budget, with members of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Janata Dal (Secular) closing ranks and holding a joint strategy meeting to prepare an expert-backed critique to be raised in the Legislative Council.
The consultation meeting was held at the office of the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council at Vidhana Soudha on Monday afternoon. Legislators from both parties discussed alleged shortcomings in the budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and finalised a coordinated strategy to challenge the government during the ongoing session.
