Bhubaneswar, April 30 -- Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the BJP government in Odisha, accusing it of merely paying lip service to women's rights while failing to take meaningful action for their empowerment.
Participating in a debate on women's participation in Indian democracy during the special session of the Odisha Assembly, Patnaik alleged that the BJP was creating false narratives on women's issues in an attempt to mislead the public.
He asserted that people cannot be deceived indefinitely and said the reality of women's welfare in Odisha stood in stark contrast to the BJP's claims.
