Kolkata, May 20 -- The newly formed BJP government in West Bengal on Wednesday, scrapped the existing sub-categorisation structure of Other Backward Classes (OBC) list linked to reservation in state government jobs and posts, and decided to retain 66 communities under the OBC category for seven per cent reservation.

The notification comes a day after the second cabinet meeting of the new government chaired by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari at Nabanna, where the state government decided to re-verify the OBC list and review certificates issued during the previous Trinamool Congress regime.
