Kochi, May 26 -- Kerala BJP Vice President Advocate Shaun George today demanded the dissolution of the present Waqf Board appointed by the Left government led by former Chief Minister and current Opposition leader Pinarayi Vijayan, alleging that the Board was constituted in violation of the provisions of the Waqf Amendment Act, 2025.
Addressing a press conference at the Ernakulam Press Club, Shaun George said the current Waqf Board was appointed without adhering to the mandatory criteria prescribed under Section 14 of the Waqf Amendment Act regarding the composition of the Board.
