Siddipet, June 11 -- Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Thursday accused the Congress, BRS and AIMIM of spreading misinformation about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, asserting that it is a constitutional exercise conducted by the Election Commission of India and not a BJP programme.
Addressing the media in Siddipet, he said the SIR is aimed at removing deceased voters, duplicate entries and illegal names from electoral rolls to uphold the principle of "One Person, One Vote."He noted that the last intensive revision was conducted in 2002 and maintained that no genuine voter would be removed from the list.
