Shimla, May 24 -- The Himachal Pradesh BJP on Sunday, expeled 28 party office-bearers and workers from their organisational responsibilities for allegedly indulging in anti-party activities by contesting Zila Parishad elections against officially authorised BJP candidates.

The action was taken with the approval of state BJP president Rajeev Bindal after consultation with senior party leaders, according to a party statement issued here.

The BJP said organisational discipline remained paramount in the party and no individual could be placed above party interests, discipline and support for officially nominated candidates.
