Bidar, March 21 -- Banking on an alleged wave of public anger against the ruling Indian National Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday exuded confidence of a strong showing in the upcoming by-elections to the Davanagere South and Bagalkote Assembly constituencies, while highlighting its coordinated approach with the Janata Dal (Secular).

Addressing reporters, state BJP chief Vijayendra Yediyurappa said the party has already finalised its candidates, with former MLA Veeranna Charantimath fielded from Bagalkote and Srinivas Daskariyappa from Davanagere South, as part of a strategy to consolidate local support and leverage experienced faces.
