Vidya Shankar RaiLucknow, Sept. 8 -- With the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections just months away, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has shifted its organisational machinery into election mode, constituting new executive teams across the state's six regions.
The move, however, has triggered questions within the party over caste and geographical representation, with discontent surfacing in several regions following the release of the lists.
The new regional committees for West, Braj, Kanpur-Bundelkhand, Awadh, Kashi and Gorakhpur will spearhead the BJP's grassroots preparations for the 2027 Assembly polls and lay the organisational groundwork for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.
