Agartala, June 14 -- The BJP-backed Lawyers Development Forum suffered a significant setback in the Tripura Bar Association (TBA) elections, with the opposition-backed Save Constitution Forum securing a decisive majority in the 15-member executive body.
The Save Constitution Forum, a joint platform of the Congress and CPI(M), won 10 of the 15 executive posts, while the BJP-affiliated Lawyers Development Forum managed to secure only five positions. The outcome is being viewed as a major political and symbolic victory for the opposition-backed legal fraternity in the state.
