Bengaluru, July 1 -- A fresh political row erupted in Karnataka on Wednesday after the Congress government's statewide verification of beneficiaries under the Gruha Jyothi free electricity scheme triggered allegations from the BJP that the exercise was a covert attempt to prune beneficiaries by introducing income and caste filters.
